What is Seen?
Seen is a creative documentary portrait series. It exists to do one thing properly — give three real women a professional portrait experience and a permanent, honest record of who they are right now.
Not models. Not curated versions. Women at a real point in their lives — women who have navigated something significant and come out knowing themselves better for it.
Each participant is photographed across two studio sessions — a personal portrait session and a boudoir session — and takes part in a short filmed personal interview. The images and interview are published together on this website as a standalone story.
This is a personal project. I am Angelika — the photographer behind Angelique Portrait Photography. The image above is of me. I created this project because I believe the women who most need to be seen properly are often the last ones to make space for it.
