Do you help with posing?

Absolutely. You don't need any experience in front of the camera—that's my job! I'll guide you through every step, from flattering poses to expressions, so you can feel confident, relaxed, and truly enjoy being in the spotlight.

I'm nervous about my session—is that normal?

Yes, completely normal! Almost everyone feels a little nervous at first, especially for Boudoir sessions. My goal is to create a safe and empowering space where you can feel at ease. Once you arrive, get your professional hair and makeup done, and settle into the flow of the session, those nerves quickly fade.

Do you provide professional hair and makeup?

Hair and makeup: Professional hair and makeup is not included in your session fee. It is strongly recommended for the best result on camera. I am happy to provide trusted local referrals on request — just mention it when you enquire.

Do you photograph women of all ages and sizes?

Yes — without qualification.

This studio works with women from their late twenties through to their sixties and beyond. Age is not a consideration in how sessions are approached or how images are produced. Lighting, posing, and direction are applied to make every woman look exactly as she is — at her best, on her own terms.

The same applies to size and body type. Posing direction at this studio is specific and intentional. Every angle, every position, every adjustment is made with your body in mind — not a generic template applied regardless of who is standing in front of the camera. The result is images that flatter without distorting and represent without apology.

If you have had photographs taken before that you were not happy with — this is usually a direction problem, not a you problem.

How long does a portrait session last?

Most sessions take about 2–3 hours of shooting time. For Personal Portrait and Boudoir sessions, you can expect about 4 hours total from start to finish, including time for professional hair and makeup. Brand Photography sessions are typically shorter, around 1.5–2.5 hours, depending on the package.

How long does it take to receive my photos?

Your images are delivered following your private Viewing and Ordering appointment, which is scheduled 7–10 days after your session. This is when you review your edited portraits, make your selections, and place your order.

Final retouched images are delivered within 2–3 weeks of your ordering appointment, depending on whether you have ordered printed products alongside your digital files. Print products — albums, wall art, folio frames — require additional production time and will be confirmed at the time of ordering.

You will not receive unedited files. Every image delivered has been professionally retouched. That process takes time and is part of what you are paying for.

What should I wear for my session?

We'll have a consultation before your session to plan your wardrobe, but here's a general guide:

• Boudoir: Bring lingerie you love, plus coverups like silk robes or delicate wraps. We also have select pieces from our studio wardrobe for you to use.

• Personal Portrait: Elegant dresses, accessories, or outfits that capture your feminine style and spirit.

• Brand Photography: Outfits that reflect your professional image—from sleek business attire to approachable, creative looks.

Where is the studio located in East Lothian?

Studio based in Tranent, East Lothian. Serving Edinburgh, Midlothian, and East Lothian.

How much does a portrait session cost?

A non-refundable booking fee is required to secure your session date and covers your pre-session consultation, studio time, and a tailored preparation guide.

• Personal Portrait, Brand Photography and Boudoir Sessions: £149 (includes studio preparation and wardrobe support). The remaining balance for your chosen package is due on the day of your Viewing & Ordering Appointment.

How do I pay for my session?

Your booking fee is due at the time of reservation. The final payment for your chosen package must be completed at your Reveal & Ordering Session before your images are delivered or print products are ordered.

How do I view and order my photographs?

We'll meet for a private Reveal & Ordering Session about 7–10 days after your shoot. You'll view your beautifully edited portraits and select the products you'd like to order, such as heirloom albums, wall art, or digital images.

Do you offer digital images?

Yes. Every purchased portrait is provided as both a high-resolution digital file and a corresponding print option (depending on your package). We also offer digital-only collections.

Will my images remain private?

Yes, always. Your privacy is my highest priority. Your portraits will never be shared publicly without your explicit written permission. If you prefer to keep your images completely private, they will be used only for your personal order.
